This piece captures the essence of Peter Max's signature 1960s 'Cosmic Art' period - an era of works that inspired and captured the zeitgeist of a generation and brought the artist international acclaim. 

'Angel Profile Ver I' holds a rare color palette for the artist of subdued earth tones with punctuations of cerulean blue in the angel's wings and a burst of marigold in her hair - fauvist surprises. One of Max's favorite subjects to draw and paint, this angel stands at attention in profile, her wings extended as she focuses ahead amidst heavenly swirls.
