This rare Artist Proof, of a very limited quantity, is an elegant and enchanting example of the transformation of Max's work from his 1960s world-renown 'Cosmic Art' period to his more fluid drawing style that emerged in the 1970s. 

The artist's bold lines from his 'Cosmic Art' period become more fluid and calligraphic. His lines flow organically - creating a peaceful composition of elegant simplicity. The reeds bend gracefully against the calm horizon as a flock of birds fly towards the sun. Max's use of cool violets and gentle blues with a pop of a tangerine sky is a departure from the daring colors of his previous works. 

In "Space Flowers II," created and printed by the artist almost half a century ago, Max has created a transcendently beautiful dreamscape with simple, flowing line work and a tranquil balance honoring nature's kindness and beauty.
