At the intersection of form and abstraction, Peter Max's 'Abstract With Heart' has a fullness and sculptural quality in its drawing. Rendered in his bold, fluid and animated line work on a field of black, Max puts one of his iconic heart drawings on a pedestal, so full in form it seems to emerge from the work. 

Peter Max has made prints throughout his career, experimenting and discovering new techniques and processes through the decades in the printing arts. For this black and white series, the artist added unique hand-coloring with soft, subtle color washes and energetic pencil work on the composition, margins and on the embossment seal - creating a distinctive, mixed media piece.
