With fascination and experimentation, Peter Max has created works with many printing processes throughout his career. In 'Vase of Flowers I' Max printed one of his most elegant, floral still lifes in dramatic black and white. Max's fluid, calligraphic line work creates a beautiful composition surfacing from the lush, raven background.
This sublime, mixed media work is hand-colored with electric color-wash and swirls of pencil strokes on the subject, in the margins and on the artist's embossment seal - adding texture and light, and making it a unique work of art.
