Emerging from the Peter Max's prolific sketches and drawings through the decades, created wherever he is - planes, cars, cafes, his studio; 'Visage,' is an avant-garde and rare Peter Max portrait, rendered with the subject facing the viewer. The artist more typically creates portraits in profile. 

Reminiscent of Matisse portraiture in form and color, 'Visage' is a striking portrait formed of expressive, elegant lines, and perfectly composed. The minimalism of the brushwork and bold, fauvist color express the portrait dramatically on the open, white plane.
