God Bless America V MP 99/100
Color Etching
22" x 19.5"
A true patriot, Peter Max first painted Lady Liberty in 1976 to celebrate America's bicentennial. His love affair with her has continued in the decades since. Max's approach to making art is multi-disciplinary. He often works through his inspirations simultaneously in paint and print. The printing art forms are as important to him as his painting work, and the etching process is one of his most cherished.
The bold and dramatic black line work of 'God Bless America V' is met with soft red, white and blues and subtle hues adorning Liberty's crown and gown, with a heart drawn with the stars in each flag - for a country with a heart.
