Peter Max's 'Two Hearts on Blends' is an exuberant work of sumptuous and sensual strokes and bold, fauvist color that captures the inspiring energy of love. This piece is a radiant example of Max's animated and spontaneous brushwork and his rousing and vibrant color choices.

The artist has added his signature, swirls of 'zooples' to the electric color-blend margins of the piece. A collector favorite, Max began his heart series paintings and drawings in the early 1990s to celebrate the era as the 'Decade of the Heart.' He wanted to honor Americans sharing and giving in the arts - celebrating a people with a heart.
