A limited edition graphic print on fine archival paper. One from a numbered edition of 500 signed by Peter Max.
Peter Max first painted Lady Liberty in 1976 to celebrate America's bicentennial. His love affair with her has continued through the decades as he continued to paint her in different forms and for many events and commissions, experimenting with variations in color, pattern and brushwork for her portrait.
Printmaking has been central to Max's practice since the 1960s and the printing art forms are as important to him as his painting work. In this distinctive graphic print, 'Six Liberties,' the artist presents a series of his most striking Liberty works, creating a beautiful rhythm and a stunning, patriotic piece.
