'GRAMMY 1989' is the first official artwork that Peter Max created for the annual GRAMMY™ Awards. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has asked the artist to create the official GRAMMY™ Awards artwork on six occasions - no other artist has had that honor. 

In 'GRAMMY 1989,' the gramophone trophy silhouette is filled with the artist's bold, fauvist color strokes, creating a uniquely-Max signature on the iconic symbol. The colors are both opposing and harmonious. The artist's love of music, creativity and color are merged in this, his inaugural GRAMMY™ painting.
